RJ-45 and M12 Plug Connectors
For Industrial Ethernet and Profinet
Phoenix Contact provides a comprehensive
range of products for RJ-45-based
and M12-based Ethernet and Profinet
cabling. The offerings include plug connectors
in protection categories IP20
and IP67, cables (assembled or in meter
lengths) and patch cables for DIN rails in
control cabinets.
In addition to common RJ-45 plug connectors,
M12 plug connectors, which are widely
employed for sensor/actuator cabling, are
now also increasingly used for industrial
Ethernet cabling. Despite its small size, the
M12 plug connector fully meets IP67 protection
requirements. Available in 4-pin and
8-pin versions, this plug connector can be
used for Fast Ethernet as well as for Gigabit
Ethernet allowing transmission rates of up
to 1,000 Mbit/s.
RJ-45 and M12 Connector Assembly without any Tools
Thanks to the new quick connection technology
of the RJ-45 QUICKON and the M12
QUICKON, plug connectors can now also be
assembled for the first time without any tools
under the harsh conditions of industrial environments. Both plug connectors feature a
shielded design and comply with CAT5 specifications
according to IEC 11801:2002. The
generous AWG 26-22 cross-sectional area
for 1-wire and 7-wire conductors allows for
all current Ethernet and Profinet cables to be
connected.
