Chip Beads in 1005, 1608 and 2012 Format
MPZ Series: Even the Smallest Device Can Handle Currents up to 2A
TDK´s MPZ series of surface-mount
ferrite beads, also known as multilayer
chip beads or impeders, offers a choice
of different chip formats and a wide
range of impedance values. Featuring
very low DC resistance and a current
capability of up to 6 A, these chip beads
are excellent EMI countermeasure products
for DC power supply lines.
Based on multilayer technology, the ferrite
chip beads feature a completely monolithic
structure enabling an excellent magnetic
shielding which reduces interference to a
minimum. The MPZ series chip beads are
offered in 1608 (0603) and 2012 (0805) versions
with rated currents ranging from 1 A to
6 A, as well as in size 1005 (0402) for currents
up to 2 A.
1005 Type Bead with 2A Rating
The latest release in the MPZ1005 series, the
MPZ1005S100C, features extremely small
dimensions (0.5 x 1.0 x 0.5 mm) and has
been designed to offer increased design possibilities for space-constrained applications.
The MPZ1005S100C also benefits from a
reduced weight of only 1 mg.
Offering reduced size but maintaining a
maximum current capability of 2 A and an
impedance value of 10Ω, means that the
MPZ1005S100C is an ideal EMI countermeasure
device for power supply lines in
mobile communications devices and audiovisual
products.
The MPZ1005S100C has a specified operating
temperature range of –40 to +85 °C and
also offers low DC resistance of 0.045Ω,
reducing power consumption and heat output.
