C&K Components introduced several new miniature and sub-miniature switches that feature both the constructional properties and functionality required for small size end products such as communication devices, consumer electronics, testing equipment and medical devices.

Smallest Tact Switches
Measuring only 2.6 x 3.0 x 0.65 mm (0.45 mm body height), the KMT series tact switch from C&K Components is one of the industry´s smallest top actuated tact switches with integrated actuator. KMT tact switches offer a superior switching feel and can be supplied with gold or silver plated contacts. With an extended life cycle of 150,000 operations, these tact switches feature a 50% longer operational life in comparison to similar products.

The integrated actuator allows for simpler button design and provides a sharp tactile feedback. In order to meet different application requirements, there is a choice of two actuation force options: 1.6 N (tactile ratio 30%) for mobile devices and 1.0 N (tactile ratio 10%) for hearing aids and headsets. The KMT series tact switches are also available with a grounding pin for ESD protection.

Snap Action Switches in many Versions
The LCS series miniature snap action switches have been designed for applications requiring small dimensions, long operational life and high electrical capabilities (up to 6 A/125 VAC and 3 A/250 VAC, respectively). Featuring a single-pole double-throw contact arrangement, these fully dust and splash proof switches are offered in a wide variety of actuator and termination styles, including quick connect, solder style, leaded for PCB through-hole mounting, and potted wire leads. Other key features include an extended mechanical life of more than 100,000 cycles, an operating temperature range from –40 °C to +105 °C and a housing made of high temperature resistant PTS thermoplastic.

Miniature Slide Switches
Offered at reasonable prices, C&K´s JSM and JS series miniature slide switches feature a very low profile and are highly reliable. The single-pole JSM series miniature slide switches with actuators measuring only 2.5 mm in height come in surfacemount format. Available in single, double or triple throw styles, these slide switches feature an electrical rating of 0.3 A at 4 VDC. Apart from models that provide momentary switching on both sides, the series also includes models with one side maintained and the other side momentary.

The JS series includes single-pole and double pole miniature slide switches (single, double or triple throw, electrical rating 0.3 A at 6 VDC) in surface mount and leaded variants. Some JS series slide switch models measure only 1 mm in height. All JSM and JS series devices are lead-free and compatible with IR reflow soldering processes up to 260 °C.
