Devices of Choice for Signal Paths in Telecom Systems
High throughput rates, best possible
dynamic performance, small size and
low power consumption – that is what
designers are interested in when selecting
A/D and D/A converters for highperformance
telecom system signal
paths. The TDA9910 and TDA9935 converter
devices from NXP Semiconductors
perfectly meet these requirements.
TDA9910: 12-bit, 80 MSPS Sampling Rate A/D Converter
NXP´s TDA9910 is a high-speed 12-bit A/D
converter capable of direct IF sampling in
telecommunications infrastructure subsystems.
Designed for direct IF sampling up to
80 MSPS, this converter device even meets
the most demanding requirements in applications
such as 2.5G and 3G cellular infrastructure
(transceivers), wireless access systems,
fixed telecom networks, optical networking
and WLAN infrastructure. Thanks to
its broadband input capabilities (input frequencies up to 370 MHz), the TDA9910 is
ideal for single and multiple carriers data
conversion.
Among other features, the TDA9910 offers a
programmable CSS (Complete Conversion
Signal) that allows adjustment of the delay
of the acquisition clock, hence providing a
very flexible aquisition control mechanism.
In addition, it has an internal front-end
buffer offering the lowest input capacitance
(<1 pF).

TDA9935: Dual 14-bit, 160 MSPS Update Rate D/A Converter
The TDA9935 dual 14-bit D/A converter is
the digital-to-analog “counterpart” of the
TDA9910. Like the TDA9910, this D/A converter
is optimized for direct IF conversion,
and reduces signal path complexity and
overall system cost. Typical applications are
broadband wireless systems, digital radio
links and instrumentation.
Key features of the TDA9935 include:
