Schottky Rectifiers and TVS Diodes

MicroSMP Miniature Package: High Current Density, Low Thermal Resistance

Vishay releases new Schottky rectifiers rated to 1 A and transient voltage suppression diodes rated to 100 W in the MicroSMP™ power package, that features a space-saving 2.5 mm by 1.3 mm footprint.

MicroSMP

Vishay´s Schottky rectifiers and transient voltage suppression diodes (TVS) in the new MicroSMP™ miniature package provide high current power density and low thermal resistance for space savings and improved reliability.

2.5 mm by 1.3 mm Footprint
With a height of 0.65 mm and a 2.5 mm by 1.3 mm footprint, the new MicroSMP™ Schottky rectifiers are designed to provide secondary rectification and freewheeling diode functions for miniature AC/DC and DC/DC converters; flywheel and polarity protection for miniature power converters and portable electronic equipment such as digital cameras, MP3 players, navigation systems, GPS and cellular phones; and polarity protection of power lines and signal lines for automotive and industrial systems.
The MicroSMP™ TVS devices are optimized for power and signal line protection for microprocessors, signal processing ICs and logic circuits; and high-power voltage regulation for non-sensitive input voltage circuits in automotive and industrial electronics. These new devices improve on all previous TVS products in similar package types by combining ESD transient protection with a superior surge clamping capability.
The single-chip, surface-mount MicroSMP™ package features solder pads that are compatible with other SMD devices, so no modification is needed to the PCB layout when the new Schottky rectifiers and TVS are used as higher-performing upgrades to existing devices.

25 A Forward Surge Current Capablility
Featuring a low forward voltage drop, the six Schottky rectifiers are rated up to 1 A at a 110 °C lead temperature, while the two voltage suppression diodes feature a peak pulse current of 100W at a 10/1,000-µs waveform.
All the devices offer a high 25 A forward surge current capability for an 8.3 ms pulse. Low junction-to-lead thermal resistance of 30 °C/W for the Schottky rectifiers and the TVS devices provides improved reliability and a longer operational life span.
