Embedded Low Power Processors

Primary Goal: Performance Enhancements and Lower Power Consumption

Intel, the world leader in silicon innovation, has a market share of about 80 % in the microprocessor arena (x86 processor sales) and is by far the most successful processor vendor. Intel offers a wide range of processors and chipsets optimized for various market requirements. The low power processors from Intel shown in the selection guide on this page have been specifically selected for the embedded market requiring 5 to 7 years long-term availability.

With their low power design, Intel Embedded Low Power Processors combine superior performance with high energy efficiency. The table on the right shows the current portfolio of embedded low power processors ranging from Intel® Celeron®M to Intel® Core™ 2 Duo. Also included in the listing are the corresponding, validated chipsets. For less demanding performance requirements the range of embedded low power processors includes the Intel® Celeron®M ULV and Intel® Celeron®M ULV 373 processors. Both are ultra-low voltage (ULV) devices operating at clock rates of 600 MHz and 1.0 GHz, respectively. At the upper performance level, the 2.2 GHz Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7500 featuring an 800 MHz FSB (Front- Side Bus) is the most powerful embedded low power processor currently available from Intel.

Tuned for Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processors, Intel´s latest chipset, the Mobile Intel® GME965 Express Chipset, offers industryleading performance capabilities.
