Just imagine how many relays there are to be found in an ordinary household. Those tiny helpers – hidden in almost all modern electrical and electronic appliances – are close companions in our daily life. They click audibly or almost inaudibly in washing machines, clothes dryers, and microwave ovens, in heaters and air conditioners, time switches, food processors and espresso machines, in TV sets, remote controls, PCs and telephone installations.
The technical requirements relays face are as manifold as they are in form themselves: Relays come in different sizes, with special coil voltages, terminal solutions, contact types, high switching capacity combined with low power consumption. Power Relays,

Omron’s power relays set the standards for industry, providing switching capacity of up to 30 A in a variety of contact configurations. Long lifespans are assured, even with the most arduous of loads. Omron has introduced a quiet version of its popular G5RL power relay. Aimed specifically at the growing home market, in applications ranging from panel heaters to video games, where ambient sound levels need to be kept to a minimum, the G5RL-LN relay creates a sound pressure level of typically just 45 dB at a distance of 15 cm, which, when switching is almost inaudible.

Signal Relays,

Omron supplies one of the widest ranges of signal relays in Europe and is at the forefront of development in specialist products, RF switching and surface mount technology. With a revival in the telecommunications infrastructure market, the new G9YA 26.5 GHz coaxial relay is capable of carrying 120W at 3 GHz for mobile communications base station and antenna applications. They feature low power consumption and space-saving size. The fail-safe model requires just 700mW, whilst the latching version saves even more power because it requires only a set or reset pulse to change operating state.
