200 V Driver ICs in 8-Pin SOIC and DIP Packages

Tailored for Low-Voltage and Mid-Voltage Motor Drive Applications

International Rectifier has added new, rugged 200 V ICs for 24 V to 100 V motor drive applications to its HVIC portfolio. Target applications include power tools, low-voltage servo drives, electric garden equipment, and electric vehicles such as cranes, golf carts, and scooters.

International Rectifier

The IRS200x family of half-bridge, high-side and low-side driver ICs is tailored for low-voltage (24 V, 36 V and 48 V) and midvoltage (60 V, 80 V and 100 V) motor drive applications including both three-phase inverter and half-bridge. When combined with IRīs DirectFETŪ MOSFETs, the 200 V drivers deliver high power density and low thermal dissipation in a compact footprint to meet the challenges of low-voltage motor drive designs.

Low quiescent current

Under-voltage lockout (UVLO) protection is a standard feature provided across the family, while the IRS2003 and IRS2004 also include dead-time protection. In addition, the IRS2004 has a shutdown input pin. These new 200 V ICs feature low quiescent current that enables a low-cost bootstrap power supply for the high-side circuitry, eliminating the need for large and expensive auxiliary power supplies that discrete optocoupler- or transformer-based designs typically require, making them particularly well suited for low-voltage applications that require a small footprint.

Superior electrical over-stress protection

The new 200 V HVICs utilize International Rectifier´s advanced high-voltage IC process which incorporates next-generation high-voltage level-shifting and termination technology to deliver superior electrical over-stress protection and higher field reliability. Offered in 8-pin SOIC and DIP packages, the lead-free and RoHS-compliant driver ICs feature gate voltage (Vout) up to 20 V, typical turn-on current (Io+) of 290 mA and typical turn-off (Io-) current of 600 mA. They accept input logic levels of 3.3 V, 5 V and 15 V.
