Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) Compatible Single Mode and Multimode Devices
In order to support network equipment
manufacturers, Intel provides a comprehensive
range of optical transceivers in Small Form Factor (SFF) and Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) variants. These transceivers feature low jitter and low power dissipation, and deliver excellent performance over the full temperature
range.
Intelīs optical components are Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) compatible, modular building blocks that enable networking equipment manufacturers to create standards-based products with shorter time to market and reduced development costs. Developers can use these optoelectronic components to build network solutions to meet a variety of high-bandwidth requirements in optical transport and storage networks, or Ethernet networks.
SFF Transceivers
Using 850 nm wavelength light sources that
support link distances up to 500 m over multimode optical fiber, the TXN31011 trirate transceiver offers a transmission rate of up to 2.125 Gbit/s (2x Fibre Channel rate).
This transceiver module can also operate at 1.0625 Gbit/s (1x Fibre Channel) and 1.25 Gbit/s (Gigabit Ethernet) without the use of a rate-select pin. The TXN22020 is a 1310 nm optical transceiver designed for high-speed Gigabit Ethernet data links operating at 1.25 Gbit/s. It supports distances of up to 10 km over single mode optical fiber.
The TXN31011 and TXN22020 devices are
compliant with FDA Radiation Performance
Standards (21 CFR Subchapter J), and IEC
60825 and IEC 60950 international safety
standards.

SFP Transeivers
The TXN31111 and TXN22120 optical transceivers
are SFP counter-parts to TXN31011 and TXN22020; specifications such as transmission rate, wave length, single mode or multimode optical fiber etc. for these pluggable transceiver modules are the same as for SFF versions. The TXN21125, TXN22125 and TXN31115 quadrate transceivers use 850 nm (TXN31115) and 1310 nm (TXN21125 and
TXN22125) wavelength light sources, and
support multimode optical fiber and single
mode optical fiber respectively.
They are designed for high-speed Fibre Channel data links operating at up to 4.25 Gbit/s (4x Fibre Channel rate). These transceivers can also
operate at 1.0625 Gbit/s and 2.125 Gbit/s
(1x and 2x Fibre Channel) and 1.25 Gbit/s
(Gigabit Ethernet) without the use of a rateselect
pin. All SFP transceivers are compliant
with FDA Radiation Performance Standards
(21 CFR Subchapter J), and IEC 60825 and
IEC 60950 international safety standards.
SFP (Small Form Factor Pluggable) Transceiver Product Range
Both SFF and SFP transceivers have an LC
duplex receptacle interface compatible with
the industry-standard LC optical connector.
